Audibly Appreciate This Website

If you notice to the right there’s a, “mixed tape”, graphic. Clicking that brings up a list of regularly updated tracks. I listen to all kinds of music and like to showcase my top picks here.

Give it a dance and see what you think.

There Goes An Asshole by Shank Bone Mystic

Michigan Mountain Biking 1 Comment »

Another great snag from Boing Boing. This guy had the wheels from his bike stolen and caught it on tape. I would have to exact some sort of revenge for toying with my most prized possesion. Hope they catch him buddy. That sucks.

A video of security cam footage of a guy stealing my bike wheels set to a song I wrote about what an asshole this guy is.

How To Export Your Del.icio.us Bookmarks to XML

Tags:
Geek Blog, SEO Blog, Web Development 2 Comments »

I had to do a fair amount of searching to find this, but I finally had some luck. Follow the directions below to export your Del.icio.us bookmarks to xml in order to import your saved pages to social bookmarking web sites. I originally did this to import my bookmarks into stumbleupon, but other social bookmarking sites require this as well. By the way you can import the xml to Stumble upon here.

1. Visit the following URL - http://del.icio.us/api/posts/all
2. You will be prompted to enter your Del.icio.us username and password.
3. An xml page of your links will com up. Go to file at the top of your browser and save as.

The Benefits Of Having A Blogger Site

Tags:
Geek Blog, SEO Blog No Comments »

I was recently reading this post on Twenty Two Steps and it got me thinking I should probably set up a Blogger brand website for Google in particular. As Blogger is now owned by Google I figured at the very least it couldn’t hurt.

I have a work blog that sees a fair amount of traffic from Google with very little work promoting it. So I decided to set up a little experiment to see just how well a blog hosted on Blogspot would perform. At the very least, I should get some decent back-links set up.

From: Twenty Two Steps

1. You’re going to generate traffic to your blog site if you pick your topic carefully.
2. It will potentially channel traffic to your main bread winner sites and the chance of revenue there.

Finding a hot topic is easy. Go to Technorati, for example, and look at their most popular searches or tags. Pick a topic which contains something specific

(i.e. a persons name, a product type or an unusual phrase) and write your blog about that. Another source I use a lot is the BBC News website. Pick your own source whether it be a local newspaper, CNN, whatever but make sure you choose something with a specific keyphrase and write your blog based around that.

I’m using AwStats and Google Analytics to determine my most popular key phrases for my own website. And will use Technorati and other social bookmarking sites for hot general up and coming keywords.

Feel free to visit my new Google Fuel Blog and see what happens. I’ll be watching my traffic and posting my results right here.

Change Campaign End Date, Microsoft AdCenter

Change End Date

I ran into an issue where I had a campaign I was running for a short period of time that had a definite end date. Well when the end date changed I wasn’t sure where to update this. It was pretty simple, but tutorials are hard to find to say the least. So I figured I’d throw this up as a quick how to as the next time I have to do this I will have undoubtedly forgotten how.

3 Easy Steps

1. Under the campaigns tab select the campaign you wish to edit.

2. Click on the ad you wish to update.

3 Click on the ad group settings tab. Click on the, “Advanced Options”, drop-down under your Ad group ID and you’ll get an option to change your end date.

Coked Out
Courtesy Of Metro.co.uk

A Holland driver high on cocaine tried to evade the cops by running through a corn field. The driver was in his father’s car trying to allude authorities. Four police cars were damaged in a desperate attempt to prevent the crazed driver from reaching public roads, but they could not save the crop from irreparable damage. In the end, the man was captured when he crashed the car into a ditch. Looks like he had a pretty decent run.

Check out this video of powerline workers from the Dominican Republic. These guys are working over 100 feet off the ground with little to no safety equipment. And you thought your job sucked.

My Very First Meme

Tags: ,
About Me, Geek Blog, Random Bloggery No Comments »

I’m trying out the whole Meme theory as it is pretty popular amongst folks in the blogosphere. I haven’t deduced why just yet, but I figured this would be as good as reason as any to give it a shot.

I’m not sure if memes are for better keyword saturation or if they’re just a way of developing custom content for your website.

From Wikipedia:

Meme - a unit of cultural information, cultural evolution or diffusion — propagates from one mind to another analogously to the way in which a gene propagates from one organism to another as a unit of genetic information and of biological evolution. Multiple memes may propagate as cooperative groups called memeplexes (meme complexes). more >>

So without further a’due let’s start off with a Meme I recently snagged. I got the following meme from 2K Bloggers and it goes a little something like this.

12 Questions Meme

1. What makes your blog unique?
I blog from the designer/ coder/ geek/ mountain biker/ disc golfer perspective. I haven’t seen a blog quite like it yet. I update content all the time and am constantly adding new and interesting media.

2. When did you start blogging?
I started blogging about 6 years ago when I was living in Hollywood, CA. My first blog platform was Blogger.

3. Is this your first meme?
Yes this is my first meme. I wasn’t quite sure what benefits a meme might provide so I decided to run a social experiment.

4. What do you hope to accomplish with your blog?
I hope to eventually develop an active group of users. Currently and up in till now I’ve been working on my traffic which has been on the up and up since I started this blog.

5. What are your feelings on the “blog popularity” issue?
Much like page rank I think people place too much importance on the popularity of their blogs. I think you can get a lot further with good solid content.

6. What’s your favorite childhood memory?
Sand Dunes at Big Bear state park shortly after the summer break started.

7. If you were stranded on a deserted island what three things would you want to have with you?
1. A woman
2. A Swiss Army Knife
3. A bottom less bottle of Bacardi

8. Are you a spiritual person?
I wouldn’t say so. I was raised Catholic and have been confirmed in the church, but personally I don’t consider myself that spiritual of a person.

9. Do your moral values affect the way that you blog, and if yes, how?
I wouldn’t say so. I would say that I feel strongly about freedom of speech. I don’t feel like there’s anything that should be considered taboo. So I suppose in that sense my moral’s affect me.

10. What is the weirdest thing that ever happened to you?
I’ll have to really think about this one. I’ll respond to this later.

11. What is your best quality?
I have great hair.

12. What is your worst quality?
I wake up too early.
