Being a web designer I’m the first one to tell you everyone needs a website, but apparently I was wrong. Here are a few that seem like a waste of design time. Mostly I can’t imagine working on these sites although I’d like to check out their traffic. To the webmasters I’m very, very sorry. Now go shoot yourselves.
Again I understand why this is here and I’m sure it’s a great keyword, but who besides die hard dentists visit this one? Maybe I’m wrong. Toothpaste.com
I found this one while researching sites that don’t need to be and thought it was funny that website.com was under construction. Mr. webmaster step away from the keyboard swallow some poison and then shoot yourself.
This is my 3rd Google Screensaver project. I collected these photos from Google and added them to my Picassa account. Just so everyone is clear these are not my images. With that said feel free to enjoy this free Detroit Tigers Screensaver. As always I’ll continue to polish and add images to this screensaver as I find them.
I see this question all the time so I figured I’d do a quick how to for redirecting your Blogspot blog.
Once you have your new website hosted and running on your new domain it’s pretty simple to redirect your viewers thanks to the publish settings built into Blogger.
Log into your Blogger account and click on the settings tab. From here click on publishing. From here you can enter the new domain you wish to redirect to.
Once again I picked up a neat little tidbit while listening to the Adam Carolla Radio Show. Apparently, most cars have this and I never even knew. If you find yourself in a car you’re unfamiliar with, whether it’s borrowed or a rental or what ever and you need to get gas you can usually tell which side the gas tank is on by looking at the gas gauge. There’s usually an arrow or it says right or left.
As you can see from the image above my tank is on the right side. My car is less than a year old and for the first month or so I was continually pulling up to the gas station on the same side my old cars tank was on. It’s true old habits die hard.
I had to make a quick post about this as The Big Lebowski is one of my favorite movies of all times. So anyway, I had no idea this was going on. Apparently, there are events held everywhere celebrating The Big Lebowski called Lebowski Fest.
It sounds as if they’re in the same vein as Rocky Horror Picture Show in the fact that people show up dressed like characters in the film. Whether or not they sit in movie theatres and throw Caucasians at the screen I just don’t know, but it sure makes me wish I lived in LA again…sigh
I just posted about Juice yesterday and decided it deserved a overview of it’s own as I didn’t explain how it works very well in my last post.
Juice is a cross platform podcast receiver that works with Windows and Mac. It reminds me a lot of the Azureus Bit Torrent Client interface. Juice is very user friendly in the, “ease of use”, category. Listed below are the individual tabs within this client that I’ll explain now.
Subscriptions
Here’s where you keep track of the padcasts you subscribe to. You can find new podcasts using the built in podcast directory or by using a podcast rss service such as Podcast Alley.
Downloads
In the downloads tab you can watch and keep track of the podcasts you are downloading.
Directories
Here’s the first place to go to find live podcasts. There is a decent group here, but I prefer online podcast directories as they seem to have a larger group of shows to choose from.
Clean Up
With the clean up tab you can remove old or downloaded podcasts as well as unsubscribe from shows that didn’t float your boat.
Scheduler
The scheduler is just what the name says. Here you can set when you want Juice to grab the latest podcast releases. This can also be done manually in the subscriptions tab as well.
All in all I give Juice 8 out of ten stars. There’s still a little room for improvement, but they have a solid release on their hands right now.
I recently installed Juice on my computer and am totally in love with it. Juice is a program for downloading podcasts. It in many ways resembles popular Bit Torrent clients in it’s design. See images below.
With juice not only can you download your favorite podcasts, but you can also find new shows via the built in podcast directory. Juice will also accept any podcast feed which leads me to a new show I started listening to today called 10 Drink Minimum. Starring a couple from New Mexico, topics range from gossip to sex to booze to “add subject here.”
I’ve only listened to 2 of the hour long shows so far, but I’m already hooked. The show is a bit campy and low budget, but you get the feeling your hanging out with a couple old college buddies.
If your interested in finding something a little more, “high brow”, you can find a million other shows at Podcast Alley. Here are a few more podcast feed websites if you’re interested.
Dexter is a great Showtime drama about a serial killer with a moral code instituted by his father wherein he can only kill bad people….So he hunts his own kind..Serial Killers.
