Basement Flood, Feb-11-08

About Me Add comments

So when I got home today I found our water was out. Apparently, there’s supposed to be a heating unit for our pipes. It’s about -3° outside right now. Hence the need.

Boy you really have to love renting an historic home. Below are a few shots of what I ran into around 8:30 when I went down to see how the heater was doing.

Yes that’s about 6-8 inches of rising water…and yes those are electric cords plugged in all over the place.

Oh yeah! Those flooded basements are a mess. Luckily we’ve not had water pipe trouble, knock on lead? Our basement has flooded slightly during storms.

Not so bad when it’s warm, but the amount of water I see in your pics and the cold…hope you got it sorted out…I guess literally…what you can keep and what has to be trashed. Bummer!
