Splash is a Firefox add-on that adds a custom splash screen when the browser starts up. It’s a fairly customizable plugin that adds your own custom touch to it’s interface.

So let’s get started with customizing this add-on

You’re going to need to open your Add-ons menu first to access the splash options screen. That’s located here

Tools > Add-ons > Splash. Select options.

1. General Tab - Here’s where you set up the very basic options for your own splash screen. Background colors and padding…well you can see the image below.

2. Image Tab - This is obviously where you define your new image. Mine is set at the default size and file format, but you do not have to use a png and you can make the image dimensions what ever you choose.

3. Text Tab - again a real no brainer, but you can see you also have access to change the color as well as text style here.

4. Miscellaneous Tab - Add sound when opening Firefox and set splash window opacity here.

And that’s it. A pretty neat little add-on that gives Firefox a little more character. Just one more to reason to switch from IE to Firefox.
