Typical Sunday Bike Ride

Michigan Mountain Biking, Top Posts All Time Add comments

Here are some pics from the last few days along with a super cool new feature which I’ll be reviewing soon called Map My Ride. It’s a neat online application that can import GPX files from your GPS and trace your biking or hiking routes.

It will tell you mileage, elevation, calculate calories burned and even let you mark your own points of interest such as places to get water, rest, eat, etc. You also have the option to create your own route by hand (see below).

My new tires which I’m completely thrilled with. Thanks Squidoo!

Thorns from this weekend which I was less than thrilled with.

Thorns rule. Man, that looks like it was a sweet ride.

I’ve never seen Map My Ride - what an incredible idea. We’ve got trails all over the place, but they’re hidden and you’ll never find them unless you know the right people. Great find.

Well the reaaaaally cool thing this program does is draw maps from your gps. I just need to make sure to clear all old routes off my etrex before I go biking next time. This way you get a truer trail layout as nearly all the trails I hit are single trail. They don’t necessarily run down most public road, but rather abandoned train tracks and the like.
