I tried logging in to Entrecard this morning and was declined. It said my email address was incorrect. So I shot them off an email before reading the following mail they sent to me. Imagine my surprise when I found out my Entrecard account was deleted.
Your account ‘Come On In The Web Is Fine’ on entrecard.com has been deleted. The administrator gave the following reason:
not a blog
Please contact support@entrecard.com if you have any questions regarding this action.
Not a blog?? Not a blog????? People is this not a blog? Is this not a set of posts that’s been going on since 2005? Do you not have the ability to post comments and sign up for a membership? Is it not based on Wordpress blogging software???
I’m sure this is just a snafu, but in the mean time I’ve taken down my Entrecard badge. I really don’t understand why they would have deleted my account. I’m on the site every day and drop cards all the time.
Again I’m sure this is some kind of mistake. Maybe a problem behind the scenes. Dunno. Has this happened to anyone else?

Uh…not a blog?
This has got to be a mistake, I don’t see how they would classify this as anything but a blog. I’m sure they will restore it. Post an update, I’d personally like to see where this goes.

Well I emailed them. We’ll see what happens. I have to imagine it’s some error on their side. I hope all my account info isn’t gone. I’ve been dropping cards for some time now. We shall see.
I’m curious if anyone else has had the same experience. Like a global change maybe Entrecard made that effected a bunch of people. Not sure yet.

To whom it may concern:
My account was deleted for not being a blog. I’m not sure why this is.My site is most certainly a blog. I was listed in the web design category and had a number of ads running and a decent amount of EC’s earned.
Can someone tell me why my account was deleted? The only explanation I got was that my site wasn’t a blog. I’m a regular dropper and haven’t broken any rules. I believe I was listed in the proper category. I’ve been a member for quite some time.
Can someone help me out? Tell me what I did wrong? Re-institute my account.

I believe what they saw was your root page which looks really like a landing page (http://natebal.com/).
I guess you should have linked your Entrecard widget to your blog which is at http://natebal.com/journal/.

That’s exactly what it was Melo. I wish they would have emailed me before they just deleted my account, but I’m sure they had some way of doing it dynamically with Perl or something. They can re-institute your account with the ID# attached to the emails you get from them. I just don’t know what it will do with the ads I had/ have running and my Entrecard credits. We shall see.

This is not good…thou I never have the same experience as you do. Looks like EC got lost into somewhere…
I knew your blog from EC, the badge widget has definitely help your blog promotion. So I hope they will response to your email soon!

All is well once again. I was contacted by the Entrecard team this morning. They are re-instituting my account soon. I did have a card on my landing page which is what threw them off. I’ll be up and running again soon.

Still waiting for Entrecard to re-institute my account. They said they would take care of this 2 days ago, but I haven’t heard anything yet.

I’ve been reassured by the Entrecard Team that my site being deleted was an error, but I’m still waiting for my account to come back online. What about the ads I had running????
