Here’s an animated gif I made from screen captures from my whos.amung.us widget page. This is the direct result from my round of submissions to social networks. Keep in mind this is within minutes of my final submission of this post. I had particularly good luck with Digg, Reddit, Simpy and Stumbleupon.

The Sociable Plugin For Wordpress

I recently started a pretty consistent round of social networking submissions after each post. Hence the boost in traffic. It was cool to watch the different countries hit. I peaked out at 199, however this is the first time I’ve used whos.amung.us immediately after a submission. So I’ll be trying this again very soon.

I just upgraded my Sociable plugin to 2.5.2. It basically offers more social networks. I’ve been having pretty good luck with my current list though. That’d be the ones below high-lighted in blue.

This one comes from the pages of Slashdot and I found it far too cool not to share. Touchgraph is a application for exploring the connections between related websites. To use this java based app all you have to do is enter your domain or keyword to see the web through Google’s relationship database.

From here a dynamically generated relational social network cloud is created. Here you can examine web site relationships as well as see which competition is fighting for your same keyword or phrase. Pleasing on the eyes and a great tool for SEO guys and webmasters alike.

I’ve noticed since I started using Twitter that Google is finding more and more of my Twitter posts. So I decided to try a little experiment and see how many of my posts get noticed if I post once every hour. I also added my Twitter feed to Jaiku as it is coming up in the top 3 for my favorite keyword nearly every time I check.

As I am still pretty new with a lot of these social networking sites it will be interesting to see what effect this will have. More soon.
